*In a Nut Shell

Back to Reality

It has been an interesting couple of days since we’ve been home. Faith wanders around aimlessly looking for something to do or someone to talk to. In her boredom, she has turned to coloring on the wall! Felicity is almost as lost as Faith is without having anybody to pick her up the moment she gets fussy and wants held. Sunday was frustrating for me because I was all by myself, with two kids, and not any idea to handle any situation on my own at all! I seriously wondered how I ever managed before Dom came to stay with us. Monday was better though. Lowell had the day off so was able to lend a hand with the attention desperate kiddos after we did our taxes while I did all the laundry and other random bits of housework. We ran to the market later in the day and had chilli for dinner.

Speaking of chilli, Felicity ate chilli for dinner with us! It was so funny to see how excited she got about eating it, and she LOVED it too! I didn’t give her any of the meat, but I let her have some sauce/broth, beans and tomatoes. And, would you believe, for the first time in a long time, she was actually content when dinner was over instead of her typical whining and complaining that she’s been doing the past few weeks. Poor kid has been starving to death. I guess she has needed more than her cereal, crackers, occassional pizza crust, and breast milk diet! Then, today for lunch, she ate a big bowl of cereal and half a peanut butter & jelly sandwhich that I tore to tiny pieces just big enough for her to grab. She loved it! And, once again, was very satisfied and not the least bit grumpy. Her two bottom teeth are fully grown in and I think she might be working on some more as she is really biting down hard when she gets anything in her mouth. She is getting around everywhere now, and has started trying to pull herself up on things. She isn’t quite strong enough yet though, so half way up she loses her strength and usually crashes. She is just so adorable and such a joy to have around. Faith is really starting to like her more and more, and it just makes me so happy to see it! Faith’s grown up alot since Christmas. Her vocabulary has become more defined and she is more grown up in her behavior. I can’t believe she is going to be 2 in a couple weeks! It has flown by so quickly, and Felicity’s growing up is going by even quicker with her 7 months birthday right around the corner too. God has been so good to us in the blessings of our amazing daughters … even if they are a little out of sorts and crazy without tons of attention from their grandparents, aunts, and uncles :)
