Babies, Life, and Me

I am 3 weeks post partum. I feel really good in a lot of ways, but tired and worn out in others.

This recovery has been easier than my recovery after Karolina’s c-section. Although, I have noticed I feel bruised almost. I am trying to figure out if it is due to the struggle Anastasia caused in getting her out, or if its normal for a 2nd section, or if maybe I have done too much. Anyway, it’s still been easier, but it’s been a little more stressful.

Even though the gap between Karolina and Anastasia is my longest, it has been hard to parent the 5 bigger ones versus parenting 4 bigger ones after Karolina was born. I can’t quite put my finger on why, though. I am not at the end of my rope, but I do notice a difference.

I had another horrible rash after the bandage tape was removed from my incision. After texting my really good friend, who is a badass nurse, about it I discovered that I basically am allergic to tape, or medically, I have an adhesive allergy. The burn… Oh the burn. I had it much worse post Karolina, though. But! With coconut oil and some essential oils, I was able to clear up the rash in a few days. And, now I know to ask for paper tape for all my medical needs. It only took 2 c-sections, no big deal!

It’s been a good 3 weeks, though. Learning to navigate life with six has been a crazy but fun adventure. I am looking forward to not being in full recovery mode, but am also loving this time with Anastasia and soaking in this season of life!

We've had to do LOTS of vehicle maintenence recently. It's been stressful, but we make light of it when and where we can. Meet Karolina, our very own box troll! She was so funny to watch walking and tipping in every which direction

Baby got her first, full submersion bath at 2 weeks when her umbilical cord fell off. Love her silly faces!

Karolina had to go to Urgent Care for nurse maids elbow. She will tell you all about it if you ask. Her fav part was getting "ice meme" with Dad

  1. Molly had an incident with nurse maid elbow too! We had to get it cast. Fun fun fun having an almost 2 year old in summer in a cast. 😖 She caught on real quick that she got babied when she said ouch and held her arm. Even after she got the cast off, she would hold her arm and give the ‘ol pathetic face when it was time to clean up or at bed time.

    1. That sounds almost as fun as a barely/newly 1 year old in a leg cast during an Indian summer. Karolina was that girl, too! Kids…whatcha gonna do? 😫🙄 why on earth did they cast for a NME?! Probably because they could and wanted yo money 😉🤑
