URGENT! Prayer Request

Our friends, the Denny family, welcomedtheir 10th child on September 20th.

During labor, Erica experienced a uterine rupture so their baby was without oxygen and when he was born it took some time for him to breath on his own. The doctors were keeping him cool and sedated for the time being to give him the best fighting chance in a NICU at a different hospital from where Erica was left in ICU after delivery. Mark, her husband stayed with the baby.

Yesterday, there was serious concern as the baby boy(!), Sheamus, was on the decline. The neurologist said that he had no brain activity. His eyes were not reacting to light nor was his gag reflex working. And he was no longer breathing on his own.

A few hours ago, this update was shared via Erica’s sister:

Erica’s uterus ruptured during labor causing the placental abruption. It can repair itself, but if it doesn’t, they will preform surgery to repair it. It sounds like she’s in really great and capable hands!

Great news! Sheamus is breathing on his own with only 20% help! Praise be to God! Keep the prayers coming though because he is still in critical condition!

Erica was released last night from the hospital and drove to see her baby. However, she started throwing up green bile and has now been admitted to a hospital in Madera. She’s in a room and under care with Mark at the moment. Papa Denny is with the baby. My mom is driving directly to her and my dad is driving the kids to see the baby. Pray for peace and healing.

Prayer for Sheamus’ Miraculous Healing through the Intercession of Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen:

Eternal Father, You alone grant us every blessing in Heaven and on earth, through the redemptive mission of Your Divine Son, Jesus Christ, and by the working of the Holy Spirit. If it be according to Your Will, glorify Your servant, Fulton J. Sheen, by granting the favor I now request through his prayerful intercession – that Sheamus Padraig’s body heals and functions normally and that he is spared any brain damage. I make this prayer confidently through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

The family is asking that we all please continue to pray for Sheamus and Erica. They are praying the prayer for the canonization of Vulnerable Fulton Sheen, asking his intercession for the baby and his momma.

In addition to these prayers, they are also praying a novena (every 9 hours, or 9 nine days) to St. Raphael and have asked us to join in that prayer as well.

St. Raphael, of the glorious seven who stand before the throne of Him who lives and reigns, Angel of health, the Lord has filled your hand with balm from heaven to soothe or cure our pains. Heal or cure the victim of disease. And guide our steps when doubtful of our ways.

May God hear and answer our prayer according to His holy will and for His greater glory.
