Zoo day

We went to the zoo at the end August. Every Wednesday is half price day, so we took advantage and had a splendid time!

The best part was Lowell was able to come with us and not have to work except from his phone.

Two of the kids’ friends tagged along for the day, too, so that was an extra bonus blast!

First things first: lunch.
First things first: lunch.

In the picnic area where we sat to eat, there were 3 or 4 kittens running around, being so cute. If you look closely above, you’ll see one running by. The kids decided it was the coolest thing ever to eat lunch with “baby bobcats” HaHa!

Watching monkeys monkey around
Watching monkeys monkey around

The monkey exhibit was really fun to watch as they swung around all over the place. Then, a monkey sitting real close to the window pooped into his hand and started eating it!!!!!!!!!! It was so gross. The kids were horrified but kept watching as the rest of the monkeys decided to “monkey see monkey do” Did I mention how grossed out I was? Then the first monkey gagged it up and started eating it again. You should have everything heard the kids gagging and moaning! The monkey felt bad, I think, so in attempts to make peace, offered his BM to the kids through the window. No biggie. (*cough* yes biggie! So Nasty!) It turns out that the character who tried to share his afternoon snack was the comedian of the bunch. He is aware of selfies and will totally make faces at the camera! We didn’t find out until after we left the monkey hall, so no selfies with that guy….

And, because I loved this sign: I am sharing it in conclusion to our exciting adventures at the zoo!
